I bought this makeup kit for my daughter's 12th birthday. When I was her age, my parents got me a makeup kit with all sorts of colors of makeup, but it was very large and unwieldy and I could not carry it anywhere. This kit, however, is small enough to fit in a purse so that she could take it with her to school or on vacation. This kit also has a nice variety of colors for a girl just getting started using makeup; nothing too outlandish that will make her look like a clown if she doesn't put it on just right. (I knew to watch for that from my own experience, LOL!) I highly recommend this kit for anyone who wants a basic makeup set that fits in a purse.
